Paramount+’s “Mafia Spies” unravels a hidden conspiracy between the CIA, the Chicago mob and Frank Sinatra’s Rat Pack to assassinate Cuba’s Communist leader Fidel Castro at a critical time in the Cold War. It’s a timely — and action packed — six-part docseries that examines what it means for geopolitics when high ranking American politicians are driven by personal demons.

It’s one of the most bizarre chapters in American espionage history, and it makes for one of the more entertaining documentary series of the year in “Mafia Spies,” a wild, six-part ride premiering Tuesday on Paramount+.

CreativeChaos vmg, a producer of documentary films and series such as HBO’s Casting By and Bleed Out and Netflix’s #MeToo doc This Changes Everything, among other titles, has signed with CAA for representation.

The untitled project will follow Suchanow’s transformation from author to activist on trial for actions against Poland’s ultra-conservative government. She and two other Polish women were arrested for allegedly organizing protests against new anti-abortion laws during the Covid-19 crisis.

The Canadian adaptation will draw attention to the critical issues specific to the Canadian media and filmmaking industries, including gender disparity, sexual harassment and the perpetual discrimination and underrepresentation of women, BIPOC and other marginalized groups.
